Finally it spilled out, splattering onto the fence and dripping down its metal weaves grotesquely. He wiped the excess from his mouth and turned around, ignoring the stench and the sight of his own stomach fluid, for the sake of being sick a third time in just ten minutes.

"I'm alright..." he sighed, his speech was slow and slightly slurred, almost to the point of sounding drunk, because he was so damn dizzy. He was dehydrated completely. You could tell by the dryness of his scaling skin, the dullness fogging over his eyes, the exhaustion scribbled onto his features. Soon, he feared, that he might collapse into an unconscious daze. He wouldn't let that happen. He'd stick with this girl; and he'd protect her with no end... because he didn't want to be left alone again.

But the thing was, he was too lazy now to hide that branding burn-bruise of a hand mark wrapped around his forearm. He was just too tired. He clutched his stomach after sulkily shoving the flashlight in the back of his pocket, but definitely not before turning it off accurately. "We should conserve the batteries-- we'll use one flashlight at a time. It looks like they're afraid of the light. I just hope all of them are like that..." he managed to gurgle, forcing the lapsing words out of his raw throat. The scratchy, itchy feeling in his esophagus and eyes was almost to the point of intensity where it was unbearable-- he wanted to just take the scalpel and kill himself.

But he knew he couldn't. He knew he couldn't abandon Gitana-- or any other survivors that might need his help. "You're not hurt, are you?"

Gitana looked away whilst her companion vomited all over the fence, not wanting to become even queasier. She realised she was quivering feverishly, and closing her eyes, she tried to desperately calm herself down, her own breathing shaking her body violently.

She was thirsty as hell too, and with a sudden brain wave her eyes flashed open, and her mouth sprung to her water flask, victory dancing in her eyes. She unscrewed the cap, taking a sip before spitting it out, getting the taste of her bile out of her mouth. Then, she took a hearty swallow, savouring the trickling substance rushing down her parched throat.
Gathering herself to her feet, she waited till Gabriel was finished before approaching him with the water.

Carefully, she knelt besides him, handing the flask over to him.
“Go on, drink as much as you need.” She smiled shakily, trying to reassure herself more than him, before her eyes trailed down wards. Shock ran through her system when she noticed the mess that what was his hand. Pity soon became the familiar emotion, as she studied it for a moment, before glancing back up at the man.

“I suggest we go to the town centre,” her hand brushed some violet hair behind her ear, “There’s weapons there, and medicine too. We could get something for your hand. Or we can go to the hospital, there may be doctors there.”

Those remarkably gray eyes flashed longingly when he caught sight of the flask that would normally hold alcohol. but the smell was too pure. Definitely water.

When he caught word of being offered water, his attention snapped completely away from listening for any disturbances, and he greatfully took it, gulping down the fluid after washing his mouth and spitting it away. But he hastily remembered that his companion would need, and he wasn't to be greedy, for he could probably last longer. So, reluctantly, he pulled it form his mouth and gave the remaining water back to Gitana.

Then he raised an eyebrow questioningly, "...My hand is alright. We need to go to the town centre-- who knows what could be in the hospital." Obviously he was thinking of zombie doctors trying to hunt you down and rip your lungs with anesthetic syringes and strangle you with latex gloves-- boy, he'd watched too many a horror movie.

"All I have is this damned scalpel," he continued, forcing the semi-uneasy words out of his not-so-dry throat. "We could definitely use more weapons." Being a male, he put all of the possibly unnecessary fighting before vital needs; like water, food, and medical supplies. But still, the dramatically horrifying scenario they were in would fog over anyone's mind with nothing but adrenaline.

Listening intently, Gitana nodded, before taking back her flask and taking a tiny sip, before shoving it back onto her belt. They would need more, though she wondered whether or not the plumbing was still working in the town.

“You’re right, anyways, other people would head towards the town centre, and it’d be easier to find supplies there.” She pushed her hair out of her eyes with shaking, pale fingers. Dark rings ran under her eyes from fatigue and fright, and her teeth clashes and chattered in her mouth. Breathing out slowly, she pulled herself to her feet.

She cocked an eyebrow when he mentioned weapons, and she looked down at her own, a long, sharp kitchen knife. Compared to his scalpel, it would probably do a lot more damage.
“Here.” She held it out to him, “You’re probably a better fighter than I am.”

It was a gamble, she knew, to give him the deadliest weapon, but reasoning overcame selfish and desperate reasons. Anyways, if he wanted to harm her, he would have certainly not have dragged her away from the horrific creature before.

Gabriel took in a deep breath, and almost reluctantly took the kitchen knife, replacing her weapon with the scalpel. "You can fend off creatures with that flashlight for now if I'm not there to help. but if I am-- don't waste the battery alright?" he said gently, trying to get her to calm down, giving assuring nods.

"Now," he mumbled, looking out to the barren wasteland of the foggy road out at the edge of the alley, against the curb of the pavement. "We should get going before that thing comes back. Who knows how many more are out there," he took her hand again, softly yet firmly, just as before, and started walking down the alley-- holding the knife in a defensive position. In all the movies-- all the creepy video games he'd ever witnessed-- whenever you come out of an alley, something always tends to jump out and scare the shit outta you... and thats when someone dies.

Taking note of that, he stifled his steps so that they were at a reasonably slow pace and extremly silent against the cement, waiting for anything that might want to leap out n' attack.

"Good idea." Clutching her scalpel intensely, and wrapping one hand securely around the black torch stuffed into her belt, she followed her companion two steps behind, her vans making barely a ghost of a noise on the dirt-speckled floor. With one last wary glance at the sinister, and vomited encased fence behind her, she shivered before turning forwards, biting her lip tensely.

She felt extremely better now that she was in the company of another person, and that person, who was probably a much better fighter than she was, had the better weapon. The scalpel was small and warm from when he held it, and it was a comforting heat that she molded her hand to gratefully.

Chewing her lip, she noticed when he moved more carefully, and did the same, inwardly praising herself for wearing clothes that could easily fit up to the task. Though her jeans were covered in mud, blood, sweat and grime, they blended easily to the shadows, and to her shape. Allowing her movements to become more fluid. Her viridian eyes sharply swifted about as she swallowed hard, cold sweat trickling awkwardly down her neck.

"Sweet," he murmured, untensing his muscles for the time being as they made it onto the sidewalk alive. But they simply flexed back up again when he heard the strange clicking noises pattering along. "Let's move," he ordered sternly, quickening his pace into a semi-jog, his shoes smacking against the pavement quietly.

He held the knife firmly in his clammy right hand, grasping Gitana's in the other, frustratedly moving his bangs from his paling face. "The Centre is getting closer, if it weren't for this fog I'd be able to see it," he let out a small groan of protest, slowing down into a walk for dignity's sake as he squinted his eyes, trying to look through the weary, thick fog at the large supermarket in the distance.

"Alright, elts set some ground rules," he spoke quietly, just above a whisper, so that his voice wouldn't echo in the awkward silence of the town. "No splitting up. If we split up, we get lost, and killed. Don't touch anything that's in the fridges, and try not to take anything that isn't needed. Obviously, money is useless now. Oh, and don't go behind any counters, behind any shelves or racks. Got it?"

Gitana was really starting to hate fog now. It swirled in a great, ghostly white mass, chilling her to the bone. Teeth smashing against each other, she gripped Gabriel’s hand tightly, happy for the warmth emanating from his flesh. It calmed her somewhat, and she shook her head, clearing away her troubled and tormented thoughts.

She glanced up at him with weary viridian eyes, listening intently, whilst keeping her attention to anything that stirred around her. Her chest rising and falling with unsteady breaths, she looked away.
Part of her stubbornness and her pride wanted to snap a witty comment back at him and his ‘ground rules’, but knowing she was being strangely unfair, she nodded, switching her gaze about her.

“Kay, I hear you.” She mumbled, “I’ve watched enough bloody horror films to know what to do. I also own a fine copy of The Zombie Survival Guide back at my apartment.” A faint flicker of a smile, the first for ages, zipped over her features, before disappearing. Hastily, she shoved her hair behind her ears.
“Shall we be off then? We won’t get anywhere standing around here.” She started to walk slowly towards the direction of the town centre, her face pallid and sickly with terror.

[sub][center]Simply, he walked after her, holding the knife rather casually, which was strange. He looked relaxed and calm, his face serious as he sped up his walk slightly. Although, his knuckles turned paper white form clenching the knife handle when the sound of the tongue clicking vibrsating off the concrete and brick-bloody buildings in high-speed, high-pitch waves.

"Fuck," he groaned, "This is getting annoying," he uttered more to himself, averting his eyes dryly as he spoke in a dull, monotone voice. "Enough of that clicking, he thought aloud, speaking under his breath in a harsh whisper, "Just attack if you're going to attack or run away like a little bitch."

The clicking stopped abruptly, as if on que, the said eeriness making to foggy mast itself swirl unconsciously, ominously. He just kept walking, sticking next to Gitana confidentally, waiting for one of those grotesque fools to jump out.
